According to reporting by MONDO-DR, the Ocean Casino Resort has swapped its 15‑year‑old Meyer Sound MICA installation for a new Panther linear‑array system. The upgrade was pursued to take advantage of the latest loudspeaker technology and to remedy persistent acoustic shortcomings identified in the venue.
Ovation Hall, covering roughly 70,000 square feet, presented several design obstacles. The space lacked a central speaker cluster, subwoofers had been repositioned, and the public‑address system was hung too low to clear recently installed video walls, resulting in coverage gaps that the original front‑fill speakers could not address. These factors drove the need for a comprehensive redesign of the loudspeaker layout.
Project manager Blair L. said the objective was to achieve a seamless sound field so that patrons would not detect where one speaker’s output ends and another begins. By deploying the Panther array, the resort expects uniform acoustic coverage throughout the expansive hall, eliminating the previous dead zones.
