Sound On Sound reported that Audeze unveiled its Maxwell 2 ANC headset on July 20, 2026, extending the existing Maxwell 2 design with active noise cancellation. This release represents the company’s first foray into ANC-equipped headsets.
The manufacturer claims the ANC system can suppress surrounding noise by up to 35 dB, though actual reduction varies with fit, firmware, environment and the nature of the noise. Audeze says its ANC performance exceeds that of rival headsets, while the audio profile remains largely unchanged when the feature is active. The headset also incorporates Audeze’s SLAM technology to enhance overall performance.
Priced at $429, the Maxwell 2 ANC works with PlayStation and PC, with an Xbox variant slated for later release at $449. The earlier Maxwell 2 model already offered Dolby Atmos and head‑tracking for spatial audio, and the new version continues to be marketed as a wireless gaming headset.
